I left Belgium, my country of origin with just a backpack. It was supposed to last a year, the time to discover Australia. I actually spent 2 years and travelled 30000 km on the red soil/ground behind the steering wheel of my campervan. The country has been a love at first sight and has literally changed me. The landscapes are breathless, the Australians are committed and their culture is significant of simplicity.
I met all along my trip many kiwis talking with a deep love about their country, “further east, into the pacific waters”, New Zealand. I booked my flight for the island and here I am today, living in Auckland, switching the images of red and arid soil for much greener and rainier landscapes. The campervan is still my bestfriend for every weekend out of the City of Sails.
