Okay2stay is a unique taste and travel experience for motorhome travellers who want to enjoy New Zealand’s award-winning food and wine. Small local producers such as vineyards, olive growers, artisan cheesemakers, boutique breweries, berry and lavender growers and many more, welcome you to park overnight on their properties - safely, legally and free of charge. There are over a hundred hosts to choose from throughout NZ.
On sign-up, you will be sent your personal login details for full access to the Okay2stay website with host details including photos, online on your tablet, smartphone or laptop. Custom maps make it easy to sort and ‘favourite’ hosts as well as to save details to PDF for viewing offline. Seek out and plan your own ‘real food’ adventure with Okay2stay. DOC is the Department of Conservation in New Zealand. They offer basic campsites (often just a shower and toilet) but located in national parks. Prices vary depending on the campsite, they can be from NZ$0 to NZ$20. Often you’re asked to make a small donation in the form of a payment in a "honesty box" (box at the entrance of the park where you make your donation.)
DOC Campsite Pass
The DOC camping pass is available to purchase through DetourNZ.
*Please note : The pass can only be used for hired motorhomes and campervans (self contained and non self contained vehicles) - not available to privately owned vehicles.
It gives you access to over 90 DOC campsites across New Zealand.
Pay for an average of 3 nights, stay up to 7 nights on the same pass. (7nights must be consecutive) at one or many different campsites. There is no limit on how many passes you purchase. Please make sure you purchase the correct passes for the amount of people travelling.
There are 3 options for the weekly campsite pass.

Single (one adult) = $25.00
Double (two adults) = $50.00
Family (two adults + two children*/youth between 5-17yrs) = $75.00
*children under 5 are free.

Ideal for families, at these campsites you can enjoy electricity in your motorhome (for DVDs, microwave, ...) for maximum comfort.
Kiwi Holiday Parks are a little less luxurious (between 3 and 4 stars), very well equipped, but lacking in certain comforts.
